Every child deserves to feel connected to an adult who believes in them. Unfortunately, many academic environments are not designed to meet children’s essential need for connection despite how important it is for learning. Classrooms with 30:1 or even 10:1 ratios do not offer every child the individualized attention they need to realize their full potential. This is especially true for children who struggle with emotion regulation, social skills and disabilities.

We offer trauma-informed and mindfulness-based tutoring for children. Our services are suited to children who struggle with attentional skills, are resistant to learning or who otherwise feel disregulated in a learning environment and require 1-on-1 attention. Our unique approach is based on recent findings in interpersonal neurobiology and mindfulness that emphasize the importance of attachment, attunement and emotional responsiveness in learning.

Families who wish to enroll their child in tutoring are offered a free educational orientation that covers the science behind our approach. They are also asked to attend private family sessions periodically to further their understanding and integrate the skills we are working on in tutoring. This provides the child with well rounded supports that extend beyond the individual work we do together.

Tutoring rate is $35 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours at once
